Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Acrobat > Preferences (Mac OS) and select the Security category. If you want to sign a document and add a reason for signing, location, and contact information when signing (included in the signature), you need to set that first-before signing. Click the “Sign” button on the toolbar and select “Add Signature” to add your signature to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Click the “Fill & Sign” button in the right pane. To sign a document using Adobe Reader, first open the PDF document in the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC application. It can be easily verified and informs recipients whetherthe document was modified after the signer initially signed the document. Unlike a handwritten signature, a certificate-basedsignature is difficult to forge because it contains encrypted information thatis unique to the signer.
